Haryana : The development of Hisar Airport is moving forward at a swift pace as the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) of Haryana is taking daily updates on the progress. This consistent monitoring reflects the state government’s strong commitment to transforming Hisar into a major aviation hub in North India.
According to official sources, the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is scheduled to visit the airport on April 10, followed by the state’s Civil Aviation Minister, Vipul Goel, who will visit on April 11. These back-to-back high-level visits underscore the significance of this project, which is expected to boost connectivity and economic activity in the region.
The Hisar Airport project is part of the larger vision to develop Hisar as an aviation and aerospace hub under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). The airport already has a functional runway and is undergoing major infrastructural upgrades, including a new terminal, air traffic control (ATC) systems, and advanced facilities for passengers and operations.
Officials confirmed that the state government is closely working with AAI to ensure all compliance and development work is completed on schedule. The presence of the AAI Chairman is expected to provide an on-ground review of construction progress, technical requirements, and future expansion plans.
Civil Aviation Minister Vipul Goel’s visit will likely focus on policy and funding aspects, besides reviewing coordination among departments involved in the project. It is also speculated that new announcements related to commercial flight operations may be made during his visit.
Local residents and industry stakeholders are hopeful that the airport will soon become operational for domestic flights, which could significantly reduce travel time to key cities and provide a boost to tourism and trade.
The Hisar Airport development aligns with the government’s aim to improve regional air connectivity and infrastructure. It is being seen as a strategic move not just for Hisar, but for the entire Haryana region
