Himachal Tourism issues advisory for tourists

Shimla: Keeping in view the heavy rains in various parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation has advised the tourists to travel safely while planning their visit to the hilly state.
Director, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Amit Kashyap, said here today that in the last 24 hours Himachal Pradesh has witnessed heavy rain and there are incidents of landslides on different routes leading to tourist destinations. Therefore, the tourists are advised that before they visit the State of Himachal Pradesh, they may first check the website of State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). Further the tourists who are already in the State are advised not to go near the rivers and hillsides and in case of any emergency they may contact the Tourist Information Centres of the Department of Tourism and HPTDC. For any query/information they may visit the website www.himachaltourism.gov.in or www.hptdc.in or https://hpsdma.nic.in
Further, the tourists are also advised to get prior information of the tourist places they are visiting about the roads for travelling.
Total 19 persons died while nine others injured and 6 went missing in various rain-related mishaps in Mandi, Chamba and Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, officials said on Saturday. (UNI)
