Pune: BJP came to power in 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and in the last eight years under the leadership of Modi, the work of the development in the country has been going on continuously, said Hemant Patil, founder president of India Against Corruption here on Tuesday.
In the last eight years, the government has spent nearly 90.9 lakh crore rupees on infrastructure and social sector schemes, said Patil while praising the work of Prime Minister for nation.
According to the government report, Patil claimed that the central government spent this fund on development work from 2014-15 to 2021-22.
The Modi government spent Rs 26 lakh crore for modernization of infrastructure and creation of productive assets. During this period, the government also spent 25 lakh crores on subsidies on food, fertilizers and fuel. Along with this, the government spent Rs 10 lakh crore on health, education and affordable housing schemes for the needy which was never done during the previous government in center, said Pati.
He also said that the government has spent 2 lakh 25 thousand crores through free ration, cash assistance to women, PM Kisan and other subsidy distribution.
In the last eight years, many important decisions have been taken by the central government for the welfare of the countrymen.
The central government is working to provide relief to the countrymen as these decisions have been taken keeping the farmers, common people at the center. Legal ban on triple talaq and creation of new post of Chief of Defense Staff, he added.
In order to combat the corona virus, the Center had announced the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan package. The central government took measures like giving free gas cylinders to poor families, providing direct financial assistance to women with Jan Dhan accounts, as well as to poor senior citizens, widows and disabled persons, he added. He asserted that the Modi government has taken important decisions to speed up the economic cycle by giving a helping hand to all the sections such as farmers, small entrepreneurs, road workers, small businessmen in the country.
