Haryana : In a shocking and reckless act, a man drove his car into a police station in Yamunanagar, Haryana, injuring police personnel who attempted to stop him. The incident took place at the Bilaspur police station, causing panic among officials and locals.
According to reports, the suspect, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, entered the police station premises at high speed. When officers tried to stop him, he accelerated and hit two policemen, including Sub-Inspector Ishwar Singh. The impact was so severe that the officers were thrown into the air before hitting the ground. The suspect then fled the scene, triggering a police chase.
Upon receiving the alert, Station House Officer (SHO) Jagdish Chandra led a pursuit to apprehend the suspect. During the chase, the accused also collided with the SHO’s vehicle. The high-speed pursuit ended when the suspect’s car got stuck in mud, allowing the police to arrest him.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The police have charged him under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including attempt to murder, reckless driving, and obstructing law enforcement.
The injured officers were rushed to Jagadhri Hospital for treatment and later referred to a private medical facility for further care. Authorities have assured strict action against the suspect and are investigating whether he has a prior criminal record.
