Jind : A young man from Haryana recently escaped a horrifying ordeal in Myanmar after being trapped by a fraudulent job offer in Thailand. Promised a lucrative job, he was instead sold to Chinese scammers who forced him to work 18 hours a day under extreme conditions. He was subjected to physical torture and constant surveillance, making any attempt to escape nearly impossible.

The victim revealed that he and others were made to run online fraud operations, scamming innocent people. When they refused to cooperate, they were beaten and denied food. He described the place as a heavily guarded compound where captives were monitored round the clock. His rescue became possible after he managed to contact his family, who sought help from authorities.

Human trafficking cases like his have been on the rise, with criminal syndicates luring young professionals with fake overseas job offers. Many are trafficked to remote locations in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos, where they are forced into illegal cyber activities. Experts warn job seekers to verify offers carefully before traveling abroad.

Authorities have urged Indian youth to stay vigilant and avoid suspicious recruitment offers promising easy money abroad. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to identify and dismantle the network responsible for this trafficking ring. The rescued man is now back home, recovering from the trauma he endured.
