Khadoor Sahib, Punjab, : In a shocking incident in Khadoor Sahib, Punjab, gunshots were fired at the Sarpanch during a dispute over the auction of Panchayati land. The event occurred during a meeting in the village of Gagdevwal, located 4 km from Khadoor Sahib.

Dispute Leading to Gunshots

The conflict began when Gurjeet Singh, a local villager, bid ₹13.5 lakh for the land in the presence of Sarpanch Harbhajan Singh and others. Another villager, Hari Singh, objected, suggesting that Gurjeet should get the contract this year as well. This angered Gurjeet, who had been awarded the contract last year. The argument quickly escalated, with Gurjeet using foul language towards Hari Singh.

Sarpanch Harbhajan Singh intervened, asking Gurjeet to refrain from using inappropriate language. In a fit of rage, Gurjeet physically confronted the Sarpanch, while his accomplice, Kashmir Singh, pulled out a revolver and fired two shots at Harbhajan. Fortunately, the Sarpanch managed to escape by hiding behind a structure.

Police Investigation

The incident occurred in the presence of several villagers, and an FIR has been filed at Vero Wala Police Station. The police are actively searching for the accused, as both Gurjeet Singh and his accomplice, Kashmir Singh, have fled the scene.
