A shock for the bride's family as the groom's HIV positive status was revealed just before the wedding, leading to an empty wedding procession returning to his village

Bhiwani, Haryanat : In a shocking turn of events in Bhiwani district, a wedding procession was abruptly halted when the groom was found to be HIV positive just before the marriage ceremony was to take place. The incident occurred late Thursday evening in village Chang, where the groom, hailing from Kishangarh village in the Maham area, was about to marry a 20-year-old woman from the local area.

The groom, employed under the Kaushal Rojgar Nigam, arrived in the village with his wedding party at 6:30 PM, and all preparations were underway at the wedding venue. The tent for guests was set up, and the bride’s side had completed all the rituals and were waiting for the wedding to begin.

At this moment, a team from PGI Rohtak, accompanied by the local health officer, Dr. Narveer Hooda, arrived at the venue and took the groom with them after confirming his HIV positive status. The bride’s family was informed about this just as the wedding was about to begin, leaving them stunned and upset.

The bride’s family had no prior knowledge of the groom’s HIV status, and preparations for the marriage had been proceeding as planned. Upon discovering the groom’s condition, the bride’s family immediately contacted the police, and a report was filed at the Sadar Police Station. The police are now investigating the matter and will take appropriate action against the groom’s side.

Dr. Narveer Hooda, the medical officer at the Chang Primary Health Center, confirmed that the groom was stopped from proceeding with the marriage to prevent the risk to the bride’s health, stating that this action had ultimately saved the bride from a potentially disastrous situation.

Suresh Kumar, In-charge of the Gujarani Police Post, mentioned that they had received information about the groom’s HIV positive status and sent a team to assess the situation. The bride’s family has formally complained, and legal action is underway against the groom’s family.
