Gadkari: New expressway to come between Ghaziabad and Lucknow

Merrut, Dec 23: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday inaugurated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious project Delhi-Merrut Expressway.
Constructed with a cost of Rs 10,265 crore, the expressway’s foundation was laid by the PM on December 21, 2015 and he had termed it as a ‘Highway of Development’.
Before this Gadkari announced that a new expressway would be constructed between Ghaziabad and Lucknow and the ‘bhoomi pujan’ will be done of the same within next 10 days. He said that the expressway would be constructed in two phases from Ghaziabad to Kanpur and then from Kanpur to Lucknow. The minister said various projects worth Rs 36,000 crore will soo

He said being a big center of industry, these new highways will lead Meerut on a new path of development.
Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways General VK Singh and UP’s Deputy Chief Minister Kehsav Maurya were also present on the occasion.
