Noida travel newsNoida: In a move to simplify the travel route from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) to Noida International Airport, Greater Noida’s Aqua Line will be connected to the Golden and Magenta Lines of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). As per a proposal from the Yamuna Development Authority (YEIDA), the ongoing Golden Line construction between Aerocity and Tughlakabad will be extended to Kalindi Kunj, creating a seamless connection to the Aqua Line.

The extension of the Golden Line from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj will bring direct connectivity to the Botanical Garden, which is a key interchange station for both the Blue and Magenta Lines of the DMRC. This will further enable direct access for Aqua Line passengers to the Golden and Magenta Lines. The 5-km elevated stretch will include two stations at Sarita Vihar and Madanpur Khadar, with an estimated cost of ₹950 crore for construction.

As the Noida International Airport prepares for commercial flights by April 2025, the Yamuna Authority has been pushing for improved connectivity to IGI Airport. A proposal has already been submitted to DMRC for extending the Golden Line to connect both airports. If approved, this project could be completed in three years, offering quicker access between Noida and Delhi’s airports for travelers.

The integration of Aqua, Golden, and Magenta Lines is expected to significantly ease the commute for passengers traveling to and from the airports. Additionally, a 72.4 km long metro service from Ghaziabad to Noida International Airport is also being considered, though it may take another five to six years to materialize.
