DIG Ropar, HS Bhullar briefs select media on his priorities on law enforcement

SAS Nagar (Mohali):   IPS Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was recently appointed DIG Ropar Range, vowed to target his guns to  decimate three crucial evils prevelent in the Society, viz., Drugs, Crime and  rising Traffic violations in  his range, especially,  the  Mahali  district.

Briefing the select media persons this afternoon, soon after taking charge, DIG Bhullar, unfolded his plans to tackle these evils and violations, he  solicited Public and parent support in handling the increasing  drug menace, especially  engulfing youmger generation,  college and school going kids, who are lured into  the drug fantasy, for relief from  competition  generated tension.   Mr. Bhullar plans to  enhance interaction with school/college  authorities,  RWAs as also  by icreasing vigil at  possible drug sales outlets.

On crime control, he  outlined his   plans to add more  police force  on the field duty, as he has been assured by  DGP Punjab to sanction 20,000 uniformed    personnel soon for  meeting  the shortall.  Traffic signasls will be upgraded soon to  ensure traffic violators are booked  instantly and challaned online.

DIG HS Bhullar,  who had been posted in the area earlier too, assured his past work experience as  DSP, SP and  SSP in Mohali will  make his task easier and  professionally perfect, in the fresh  assgnment.

In another related  development SAS Nagar  Police (AGTF unit) has recently arrested  Davinder Bambiha gang members with illegal weapons (2 pistols and 7 live cartridges).                                                                             (Editor)
