Delhi Police Gear Up for Safe New Year Celebrations with Enhanced Security

New Delhi: As Delhi prepares to usher in the New Year, the Delhi Police have rolled out a comprehensive security plan to ensure the safety and smooth management of celebrations across the city.

According to DCP (South), Ankit Chauhan, additional patrolling and specialized units have been deployed at key locations to maintain law and order. To combat drunk driving, 21 strategic locations have been set up with breath analyzers and security checkpoints.

In addition, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) have been stationed at 15 critical points, while 38 PCR vans have been strategically placed across the city for rapid emergency response. To monitor traffic and suspicious activity, 70 fortified pickets with barricades and breath analyzers are set up.

Notable celebration venues, including 31 key locations, 15 malls, cinema halls, and hotels, will be under heightened surveillance. The police force has also mobilized 40 motorcycles for swift response across busy routes, including Hauz Khas Village, a major party hub.

The comprehensive security measures also include traffic management with diversions, medical teams, excise inspectors, and SWAT teams on standby for any emergencies.

In total, over 1,000 police personnel and additional forces will be deployed to ensure a peaceful New Year celebration in the national capital.
