Delhi Govt Departments Call AAP’s Welfare Schemes ‘Non-Existent’
Disagreement erupts over registration process for AAP’s newly announced welfare schemes; CM Kejriwal accuses BJP of pressuring officials…..
Delhi : A controversy erupted in Delhi on Wednesday as two Delhi Government departments issued public notices in newspapers, disowning the registration process for two welfare schemes announced by Chief Minister Atishi and her predecessor, Arvind Kejriwal. The notices cautioned the public about fraudulent registration efforts for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana.
The Women and Child Development and Health departments clarified that the schemes, which promise Rs 2,100 monthly assistance for women and health coverage for senior citizens, are “non-existent” at present. They warned against providing personal details to anyone claiming to register them for the schemes. The notice stressed that, should these schemes be formally launched, the department would open an official online portal for registration.
In response, AAP leaders called the notices “fake and baseless” and promised legal and administrative action against the officials responsible for them. Chief Minister Kejriwal accused the BJP of pressuring government officials to issue the warnings, claiming the opposition party was rattled by the schemes’ popularity and aimed to deny benefits to Delhi’s residents.
