Deepak Mishra, Wanted in Nihal Murder Case, Arrested in Deoria Encounter

Deepak Mishra, the absconding accused in the Nihal Singh murder case, was arrested during a police encounter in Deoria. Six individuals have now been apprehended in connection with the case.

Deoria, UP: In a major breakthrough in the Nihal Singh murder case, Deepak Mishra, a key suspect, was arrested during a police encounter in Deoria. Mishra, who had been on the run, was shot in the leg during the encounter and is currently undergoing treatment at Maharshi Deoraha Baba Medical College. Police recovered an illegal weapon from his possession.

Mishra’s arrest follows the capture of five other accused in previous encounters, all involved in the murder of Nihal Singh, who was shot dead on November 7 in the Surouli area of Deoria. The police had set up multiple teams to investigate the case, leading to the arrests of the assailants, including three shooters.

On the early morning of Saturday, December 7, police acted on a tip-off and surrounded Mishra near Vishunpur Mod in Surouli. As police approached, he attempted to flee and opened fire. In retaliation, he was shot in the leg and captured. Authorities have also seized illegal firearms from him.

The investigation into the murder continues, and further interrogation of the accused is underway.
