CM Yogi’s Directive: Ensure Shiv Dhun Plays at Kashi Crossings Ahead of Maha Kumbh 2024
CM stresses improved services for the influx of devotees, with special focus on cleanliness and respectful behavior
Varansi : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that the iconic Shiv Dhun continues to play at major crossings in Varanasi as part of preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh. Speaking at a meeting on Friday, he highlighted that the city should be ready to accommodate the projected influx of nearly ten crore devotees, with special attention to cleanliness and smooth operations at key religious sites.
CM Yogi stressed the importance of providing a respectful and comfortable experience for the visitors, ensuring that services like auto and e-rickshaw drivers, city bus operators, and local vendors are properly trained to handle devotees with courtesy. He also emphasized that all arrangements, including the management of shelters for pilgrims, should be completed by March 2024.
Addressing concerns about noise levels, CM Yogi instructed authorities to remove loudspeakers from religious places and limit unnecessary loud music to avoid disturbing the general public. He also reviewed progress on major projects, including those related to the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam event and infrastructure upgrades like roads and drainage systems.
In terms of governance, CM Yogi urged strict action against poor-quality work in government projects, calling for regular inspections and accountability. He assured that the works related to the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and other local landmarks would continue with the required pace and quality.
This guidance is aimed at ensuring that Varanasi not only hosts the millions of devotees expected during the Kumbh but also showcases its culture and religious heritage in the most organized and welcoming manner.
