Chemical industry needs government intervention to grow: J P Nadda
New Delhi: Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said Saturday that the government will adjust its policies and programs to help the chemicals and petrochemicals industry grow.
The minister spoke after starting the 13th India Chem 2024 event in Mumbai in October.
“The Prime Minister wants a $5 trillion economy. We must align our programs or strategies to ensure that the petrochemical industry and chemical industry align themselves to contribute to a USD 5 trillion economy “Nadda stated.
The minister said industry leaders discussed the chemicals and petrochemicals industry’s concerns and proposed solutions.
“I, as a minister, can assure you that whatever interventions are needed in policies, in programmes, whatever changes in the strategies are needed, the government is committed to it, and we will go forward with that commitment,” he said.
Reduce imports, research & development, and talent improvement, the minister advised the industry.
