Mayapur/ New Delhi: Hare Krishna mahamantra is the embodiment of Lord Vishnu. It is a mantra emphasised in ancient Indian literature. Chanting Hare Krishna mahamantra invokes the faculty of intellect and intelligence , relives stress, depression and mental health ailments. It calms the emotions and has enormous positive effect on the body and mind of pregnant women said an expert.
Renowned Disaster & Mental Health Expert Dr Naresh Purohit, presented his scientific study titled” Chanting Mahamantra is Boon for Pregnant Mother” at a convention on spirituality and health organised by the Mayapur based prestigious Bhaktivedanta Hospital on Sunday.
Speaking to NewsOnRadar, com,  after presenting his study noted physician Dr Purohit stated that it is very important on how mothers keep their thoughts and actions during pregnancy. According to the ancient Indian scriptures Abhimanyu learnt the secrets of entering the chakravyuh in the Kurukshetra war from his father Arjuna who was explaining the secret to his mother when Abhimanyu was still in the womb. Similarly, Prahlada’s mother when pregnant received through her ears the name of Narayan – thus making Prahlada a great devotee of the Lord.

Lead author and researcher Dr Purohit pointed in his study that when a pregnant mother chants mahamantra regularly the foetus hears the voice of her mother and feels the calming energy created by its vocalization.

Acclaimed medic investigated 1500 pregnant working women during his study at umpteen health camps organised by hindu religious organisations in the country from January 2022- January 2025 and observed that during pregnancy women had a weak immunity. Work stress and emotional upheaval during pregnancy leads to anxiety and depression which can be reduced by chanting mahamantra.

Dr Purohit revealed in his study that pregnant women who chanted mahamantra regularly during the pre-natal stage had minimum pain and hassle during normal delivery.

“Chanting cut back on stress which often resulted in caescrean section deliveries .” he averred

“By combining sound, rhyme, rhythm and breath mahamantra chanting generates so much of positive energy into the body of the mother that they are filled with so much of love and compassion which ultimately is passed on to the baby.” he added.
