Change of Guard, a determined step towards Antyodya in the Amrit Varsh

As India celebrates its 75th Anniversary of Independence, poor, downtrodden and tribal citizens find their representative in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, taking top supervisory role in building up the INDIA of 21st century.

President Droupadi Murmu’s rise to the coveted constitutional post, as the First Citizen of India, it presents an opportunity for crores of Indians on country’s rural dusty regions, to look forward to fulfilment of their aspirations and goals, they must have visualized in the pre-Independence era and later.  When India got Freedom on August 15 1947, and declaration of Fundamental Rights, Guiding Principles in the Constitution, enshrining equal rights for all, they had set their foot forward for walking shoulder-to-shoulder with upper sections, rich and mighty for a better life and a share in power.

Though, we had scholar Presidents in Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr. S Radhakrishnan, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, Presidents from religious minorities viz., Presidents Dr. Zakir Hussain, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed as Muslims, Giani Zail Singh a Sikh, Dr. Pratibha Patil a woman, the incumbent President Madam Droupadi Murmu fulfils the aspirations of Tribals and struggling classes of the country.

Madam Murmu brings in long political experience, as a corporator, MLA, an administrator as Minister in Orissa Govt and a Governor of Jharkhand state from 2016 to 2021, she has endured many moments of suffering due to family tragedies, which she met with courage and determination, the new President’s term will surely be a period of fulfilment of dreams.

As the Nations also completes 75 years of Independence on August 15, we will have two new Constitutional heads in President and Vice President at the helm. Though their roles and power of administration are more advisory and supervisory, they contribute a lot by keeping an eye on the working of the Central Cabinet led by a Prime Minister, state Governors and Chief Ministers. The Constitution provides extreme   powers and legal expertise to supervise the working of the Executive, Parliament and Judiciary, and question any actions/decisions taken by them, if these go against the interests and benefits of Citizens at large.

The President gives his ears to the Opposition to put forward their views, their objections against functioning of Govt.in power and their better suggestions.

With a step in the direction for fulfillment of aspirations of Citizens, selection of Madame Droupadi Murmu as an NDA candidate by Modi Government and support by a huge majority of elector MPS, MLAs is a determined effort to reach to last person on the horizon, a la Antyodya !
