Chandigarh Muslims Celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with Grand Festivities

Chandigarh : On Monday, the Muslim community in Chandigarh celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with great enthusiasm and joy. Thousands of worshippers gathered in mosques across the city to offer prayers and seek blessings for peace, prosperity, and brotherhood. The festive atmosphere was evident as mosques were beautifully decorated, and people came together to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The main congregational prayers were held at prominent mosques, including the Jama Masjid in Sector 20 and the Noorani Masjid in Sector 26, where large crowds were seen. As the clock struck 8:51 AM, devotees offered their Eid prayers, following which they embraced each other, exchanging heartfelt greetings of “Eid Mubarak.” The prayers were followed by special supplications for national harmony and global peace.
Apart from these key mosques, significant gatherings were also witnessed at the Dargah Sharif Lala Wala Peer Sabri Masjid in Sector 45, as well as mosques in Manimajra, Sector 56, Dhanas, and Maloya. The spirit of togetherness and devotion was evident as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate this auspicious occasion.
The day was marked by community feasts, where families and friends gathered to enjoy traditional delicacies such as seviyan (sweet vermicelli), biryani, and kebabs. People also visited each other’s homes, strengthening bonds of love and unity. Many individuals took this opportunity to give charity and help those in need, upholding the true essence of Eid.
Local authorities and police ensured smooth celebrations by deploying security personnel around mosques and busy areas. The Chandigarh administration had also made special arrangements for crowd management, ensuring a peaceful and joyous celebration. Markets and shopping centers were abuzz with activity, as people dressed in their best traditional attire to mark the occasion.
The spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr in Chandigarh reflected the city’s rich cultural diversity and commitment to religious harmony. With prayers, festivities, and acts of kindness, the Muslim community embraced the essence of Eid, spreading messages of peace, love, and unity across the city.
