Capt. Amarinder Singh joins BJP in Delhi
New Delhi: Former Punjab CM captain Amarinder Singh joined BJP at party headquarters in New Delhi on Monday. He also merged his oParty into BJP) the presence of senior leaders Kiran Rijiju and Narinder Singh Tomar. The veteran leader also merged his newly formed Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) with the BJP. Captain had floated the PLC last year after quitting Congress following his unceremonious exit as chief minister.
“Now is the time to do something for the country. We have seen the Congress, now it is time to go to the party that has been doing so much for the country and its security. It is a pleasure being here,” Singh said after joining BJP
Later Captain met Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Modi to discuss state political affairs.
