Chandigarh, March 12: Aam Aadmi Party’s CM-designate Bhagwant Mann met Punjab Governor Shri Banwarilal Purohit in Chandigarh on Saturday. After staking claim to form Govt in the state, he requested the Governor for March 16 as swearing date. AAP leader told media later that swearing will be held at the native village of Bhagat Singh, Khatkar Kalan at 12.30 pm on March 16.” He added, “People from houses across Punjab will come to the ceremony, they will also pay tribute to Bhagat Singh. We will have a good cabinet, historic decisions, that were never made before, will be made.
Taking a serious note of incident of killing of cows near Cholang railway crossing in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab Chief Minister designate Bhagwant Mann directed the state DGP to get a thorough probe for this heinous crime. Mann asserted that bad elements should refrain from such inhuman acts as law and order would be maintained at all cost and no one would be allowed to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the state by perpetrating such crimes. He also asked the DGP that strict action should also be ensured against those found indulged in beheading of cows as a deterrent for others indulged in such dastardly acts. However, he said exemplary punishment should be given to the perpetrators of this unpardonable and extremely shocking incident that should be condemned by one and all in the strictest possible words. Mann also appealed the people to exercise restraint in this situation in larger public interest as the State Police had already been directed to brought the culprits to the book soon. Meanwhile, the Hoshiarpur police has registered an FIR in this regard.
