Bangladesh: Over 1.4 million COVID-19 patients recover, 25,846 dead
Dhaka, Aug. 27 (UNI/XINHUA) The number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 reached more than 1.4 million in Bangladesh on Friday.
The country’s Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said the total number of recovered patients in the country stood at 14,04,370, including 6,485 new recoveries on Friday.
According to the official data, the COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.74 percent and the current recovery rate is 94.50 percent.
Bangladesh reported 3,525 new COVID-19 cases and 117 new deaths on Friday, making the tally at 14,86,153 and death toll at 25,846, the official data showed.
According to the DGHS, 27,578 samples were tested in the last 24 hours as of 8:00 a.m. local time Friday across Bangladesh.
Bangladesh recorded the highest daily new cases of 16,230 on July 28 and the highest number of 264 deaths twice on Aug. 5 and Aug. 10.
