Arijit Singh’s Earnings Could Buy Him a Duplex in Mumbai, Yet He Chooses Simplicity

Rapper Raftaar and Ikka discuss Arijit Singh's massive wealth, humble nature, and how he stays grounded despite his immense success.

Arijit Singh, the renowned playback singer, continues to win hearts not just for his soulful voice, but for his unassuming and humble lifestyle, despite having amassed massive wealth over the years. Singers Ikka and Raftaar recently discussed Arijit’s simplicity in a podcast appearance, revealing fascinating insights into his down-to-earth nature and financial success.

Raftaar on Arijit’s Humility: During their conversation on the Honestly Saying Podcast, Raftaar expressed his admiration for Arijit Singh’s modesty. He pointed out that while many in the music industry flaunt their wealth, Arijit, who earns far more than most, prefers to stay away from the media spotlight and avoid showing off his riches. Raftaar humorously added that the singer could easily afford to host a lavish lunch for “100 of us,” yet he remains grounded and humble.

Ikka added, “The amount of money he makes is crazy, yet he doesn’t flaunt it. People in the music industry think of themselves as rich, but Arijit could have 100 of us over for lunch and still not break a sweat.”

Arijit’s Massive Earnings and Simple Choices: The podcast also highlighted a particularly intriguing story shared by Ikka. He revealed that Arijit once performed for just 1-1.5 hours at a wedding and was offered a duplex apartment in Mumbai in exchange for his performance. Despite such a lucrative offer, Arijit is known to lead a modest lifestyle—choosing simplicity over ostentation.

Another story shared by Ikka illustrated Arijit’s humble nature. After completing a show, he didn’t wait for his car, which was delayed. Instead, Arijit opted for an autorickshaw and left for home, further solidifying his down-to-earth persona.

Comparing Arijit to AR Rahman: Raftaar and Ikka also compared Arijit to the legendary Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. While Rahman commands around Rs 3 crore for a single live show, Arijit, according to Ikka, doesn’t flaunt the immense amounts of money he earns. “Arijit isn’t making noise about it, and that’s the difference,” said Ikka, highlighting the contrast in their approaches despite both being at the pinnacle of their careers.

Arijit Singh’s Rise to Fame: Arijit Singh’s career skyrocketed with his breakout song “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2 (2013), and since then, he has gone on to sing over 400 songs in various languages. At 37, the singer continues to enjoy widespread popularity while staying true to his personal style—often seen wearing simple kurtas and jeans.

Despite being one of the highest-paid and most successful musicians in the country, Arijit Singh remains one of the few artists who maintains an aura of humility and simplicity in an industry often known for its glamour and opulence.
