Amritpal Singh to Move HC Over Attendance at Parliament SessionsChandigarh : Amritpal Singh, the newly-appointed leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), is set to approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking permission to attend parliamentary sessions. Singh, who is currently detained in Dibrugarh Central Jail under the National Security Act, argues that his participation in parliamentary proceedings is crucial for voicing the concerns of his constituents.

The petition also requests directions for authorities to allow him to attend the Republic Day ceremony, highlighting the importance of his involvement in national events as a symbol of democratic inclusiveness. Singh has emphasized that as a Member of Parliament (MP), he is legally bound to attend sessions and participate in legislative debates.

The advance copies of his petition have been submitted to the concerned parties, but it has not yet been listed for hearing.
