Alankrita Sahai Expresses Gratitude as Band Of Maharajas Makes

Alankrita Sahai, the lead actress of Band Of Maharajas, is overjoyed as the movie makes it to the Reminder List for Best Picture at the 97th Academy Awards. Expressing her gratitude, Sahai shared, “I am immensely grateful to the Academy, the audience, and everyone for their love and support towards our film. This recognition once again proves that good quality work always shines, sooner or later.”
Reflecting on the journey, Sahai mentioned the excitement when the film first entered the Oscar race from India last year, and now with its inclusion in the reminder list, it feels like a step closer to the big occasion. “My gratitude to everyone for showing love to my work and our film. I hope we continue to make the country proud,” she added.
In a heartfelt social media post, she thanked her producers for believing in her storytelling vision, especially Puneet, with whom she collaborated as the producer-director duo. She highlighted their first collaboration, Jal, which laid the foundation for their Oscar journey and garnered acclaim at Busan and the Indian Panorama, as well as a National Award. Following that, Torbaaz on Netflix received international recognition.

Sahai further expressed that the Academy’s acknowledgment of Band Of Maharajas is a testament to the dedication of the cast and crew. She hopes the film inspires greater appreciation for diverse narratives yet to be shared, describing the film as particularly special as it encapsulates her personal struggles in nurturing good cinema.
