Akhilesh: UP govt only playing with figures in budget
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president and Leader of the Opposition in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday accused the Yogi government of misleading the people from the ground issues and said that in the budget, it was only playing with the figures.
Akhilesh said the Bhartiya Janata Party was yet to understand the basic spirit of the Constitution. “It is destroying democracy, socialism and secularism by attacking them. We want a discussion on real issues, but BJP wants to divert attention. It misleads the people,” he added.
On Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s advice to read Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, he said, “The debate is not on whether I know or do not know any ideology. The Leader of the House was considering the Samajwadi Pension as SP’s pension.”
At the Ground-Breaking ceremony, he said that if an investment of Rs 10,000 crore was made, then it would have been visible to everyone.
“In the budget, the government is only playing with figures. Due to the industrial policy of BJP government, less investment has come. Development is considered only when something happens on the ground,” he said.
The SP chief said that only paper leaks, playing with the reservation and putting wrong people in the institutions were happening in the BJP government. He alleged that wrong appointments were made in AKTU and Central University.
“We want a caste-based census. The inflation generated by BJP government in the state has created a challenge before the livelihood of common people. Everything has been hit severely by inflation.
“Domestic economy has been ruined due to increase in the prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas under the BJP government. The middle class has been the worst victim. Farmers are getting fertilizers, electricity, pesticides and seeds at a high cost,” added the SP chief.
