Punjab: political landscape has once again heated up after the state government’s decision to withdraw security for Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and minister Aman Arora has questioned the opposition’s reaction, expressing surprise at their concern for Majithia’s security while neglecting broader public safety issues. He asked why the opposition is so worried about Majithia’s security when the government is making decisions based on law and order considerations.

The Punjab government recently decided to reduce the security cover for Majithia, a move that has sparked controversy. Opposition parties, particularly the Shiromani Akali Dal, have accused the government of political vendetta, claiming that this decision was made intentionally to endanger Majithia. However, now that their own privileges are being curtailed, they are making unnecessary noise.
