India wants closer ties with Interpol
Every year, the greatest assembly of law enforcement authorities, the Interpol General Assembly, convenes to discuss a range of security and investigative-related problems.
NEW DELHI: India has decided to support the implementation of Interpol’s Vision-2023 following more extensive discussions. New Delhi will support the Interpol Future Council’s establishment as well. This was communicated to the annual Interpol General Assembly in Vienna by a delegation made up of five NIA and CBI personnel.
Every year, the greatest assembly of law enforcement authorities, the Interpol General Assembly, convenes to discuss a range of security and investigative-related problems. Director General Dinkar Gupta of the NIA and Director Praveen Sood of the CBI led the Indian delegation. According to CBI official sources, the Indian delegation met with counterparts from several nations to discuss improved coordination through Interpol channels for coordinated action against online radicalization, money laundering, drug trafficking, organized crime, terrorism, and cyber-enabled financial crimes, among other crimes, in order to prevent these crimes in real time.
“India made it plain during this Interpol premier annual meeting that it supports both the Interpol Vision 2023 and the establishment of the Interpol Future Council. According to a CBI source, the Indian delegation also emphasized the necessity of denying any safe havens for criminals, crimes, or the proceeds of crimes. According to a CBI statement, the representatives of Austria, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Brazil, Australia, Mauritius, New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Zambia have held extensive conversations with the Indian delegation regarding police cooperation.
