Adv. Chetan Sehgal raises questions on “Focus Only on Issuing Challan”
Represents to Chief Minister, DGP, and ADGP Traffic; suggests alternative routes, deploying more personnel and widening of roads etc.
Mohali/Kharar: Advocate Chetan Sehgal (LLB, LLM), practicing at the Supreme Court of India and Punjab & Haryana High Court, a resident of Mohali has sent a representation to the Punjab Chief Minister, Bhawant Singh Mann, the DGP, the ADG (Traffic), the Dy. Commissioner Mohali, and the SSP, Mohali, addressing the growing traffic congestion in Kharar and Mohali.
He has highlighted the severe traffic problems in these areas and urged immediate action. He pointed out that increasing vehicular movement combined with inadequate traffic management is causing major inconvenience to the residents and road uers .
Advocate Sehgal has suggested to use pragmatic treaffic management than putting more emphasis on punishing the vehicle owners, confused public trying to fathom through traffic jams, delays and often stuck up on the busy routes for hours.
He has underlined the key issues viz., persistant peak hour jams, severe traffic congestion during morning school-going hours at specific locations viz., Kharar, Gopal Sweet/KFC Chowk under-bridge, Landran Road and Airport Road, Airport etc.
Adv. Chetan Sehgal emphasized that the traffic congestion causes significant delays in reaching the Punjab & Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court, which directly affects urgent legal matters and proceedings.
Advocate Sehgal has suggested some solutions like widening of main roads, construction flyovers and underpasses to address chronic traffic problems instead of resorting to heavy gtraffic challans and other punitive actions. For immediate relief to congestion, he has suggested finding alternative routes, diverting traffic, deploying additional police personnel to help decongest busy traffic spots.
Adv. Sehgal has lamented the disruption of daily life, economic productivity and hampering access to emergency services, in his representation and has requested immediate intervention to improve traffic management, enhance police deployment, and implement advanced strategies to resolve the worsening traffic situation.
