Case Filed Against Executive Engineer for Possessing Assets Beyond Known Sources of Income….
Bathinda ( Punjab ) : In a major anti-corruption move, a case has been registered against an Executive Engineer (XEN) for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The action was taken following an investigation by the vigilance department, which found substantial evidence indicating unexplained wealth accumulation.
According to officials, the engineer had been under surveillance for the past few months due to suspicions of corruption. Upon reviewing his financial records, authorities discovered multiple properties, luxury vehicles, and high-value bank transactions that far exceeded his legal earnings. The vigilance team also found evidence of benami properties linked to his close associates and family members.
Following these findings, a formal case was registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Raids were conducted at his residence and office, where important documents and cash were reportedly seized. Investigating officers are now analyzing these documents to trace further sources of illicit wealth.
Authorities have stated that strict action will be taken against all government officials involved in corruption. They emphasized that the government is committed to maintaining transparency and accountability. The vigilance department has also urged the public to report any instances of corruption.
Further investigations are underway, and officials have hinted at possible arrests soon. The case has been sent to higher authorities for further legal proceedings. The accused engineer will be summoned for questioning, and if found guilty, strict action will be taken, including dismissal from service and legal penalties.
