SAS Nagar (Mohali): Mrs Komal Mittal, IAS (2014 Batch), assumed office as Deputy Commissioner at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, today. She replaces Mrs Aashika Jain IAS, (a 2015 batch officer), who has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur. Mrs Komal Mittal was DC Hoshiarpur before joining SAS Nagar. She has served SAS Nagar commisionorate and has been ADC (G) and ADC (UD), Additional Secretary, Food and Civil supplies Punjab, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar and SDM Mukerian.
Listing her priorities, she said that it would be her primacy to implement the flagship programmes of Punjab Government in the district besides spearheading a campaign against drug abuse. New Deputy Commissioner said that transparency in governance, to continue fight against corruption as per the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and timely delivery of citizen centric services would also be ensured to minimise the public grievances. She said that keeping in view the growing urbanisation in district SAS Nagar and particularly in Mohali, planned development would be ensured and action should be taken against illegal constructions and encroachments. The Deputy Commissioner said that to safeguard the interests of district residents against the illegal immigration, soon a meeting will be held with travel agents and the people would be made aware about the registered travel agents of the district.

Later the new DC Komal Mittal held an introductory meeting with the Deputy Commissioner office staff, and urged them for ensuring Punctuality, Transparency, Honesty and dedication in office work. She said, “the SAS Nagar (Mohali) is the most happening district headquarter in the state, so all the staff strictly abide by all the protocols in disposal of daily work so that no body feel offended with their behaviour.” (with inputs from DPR Office)
