Himachal CM Sukhu to Chair Cabinet Meeting in Dharamshala, Key Announcements Expected for Kangra

Important Decisions Likely for Kangra District, Including Approval of Home Stay Policy and Filling Vacant Government Positions…..

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will be holding a cabinet meeting in Dharamshala today, as part of his ongoing visit to the Kangra district. The meeting will see participation from state ministers and senior officials, all of whom have already arrived in Dharamshala for the session. As a result, Dharamshala has temporarily become the administrative hub, with the state secretariat in Shimla left largely vacant.
The cabinet meeting is expected to address several significant issues concerning the Kangra district. Among the key matters on the agenda is the approval of the Home Stay Policy, a move that is anticipated to boost tourism in the region. Additionally, the government may authorize the filling of vacant positions across various state departments, aiming to strengthen the administrative setup.
The cabinet’s decisions could also pave the way for the implementation of Chief Minister Sukhu’s recent announcements regarding the district. The meeting is expected to bring much-needed relief to employees, pensioners, and the general public, especially in light of pending demands for arrears and Dearness Allowance (DA). The CM’s office is under pressure to address these issues, and it is speculated that a formal announcement regarding the pending dues might be included in the state budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 if not resolved earlier.

On the heels of this crucial meeting, CM Sukhu will also attend the Statehood Day celebrations in Baijnath, Kangra, on January 25, where he is expected to address a large gathering. Following this, the Republic Day celebrations will be held in Shimla on January 26, with both the Governor and Chief Minister in attendance.

In the evening, CM Sukhu’s message will be broadcasted on All India Radio and Doordarshan, marking the prelude to the Statehood Day celebrations.
