Some, however, were uncertain as they had applied to multiple schools and now faced the dilemma of deciding where to secure their child’s place.Chandigarh DPS Draw for Nursery Admissions: Parents Shed Tears of Joy

DPS conducted the draw for 100 seats in the nursery class, having received a total of 745 applications. Among these, 25 seats were reserved for economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups (DG). The remaining 32 seats were for the general category, while 25 seats were allocated for siblings of existing students. The draw was carried out transparently, with parents pulling out the names with their children. However, many were not as fortunate, with some parents still awaiting results from other schools where they had also applied.

The list of selected students was posted on the school’s website and notice board shortly after the draw. To ensure transparency, the school administration recorded the entire process on video, and officials from the education department were present to oversee it. The parents who were successful in the draw expressed immense relief and joy, with one mother sharing that this was a big step forward for her child’s future. She said they had been praying for this moment, and their efforts had finally paid off.

Meanwhile, the admission process continues in other schools. Schools such as St. Kabir and Chitkara are holding their draws on Friday, followed by Bhavan Vidyalaya and Sacred Heart School on Saturday. According to the education department’s guidelines, the final list of selected candidates must be published by February 3, with the last date for fee submission set for February 13.
