Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Fight Against Indian State’ Remark Sparks Controversy
BJP Accuses Congress Leader of Dividing the Nation; Rahul Hits Back at RSS Chief Bhagwat…….
New Delhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi triggered a major political controversy on Wednesday when he declared that the party was “fighting the BJP, RSS, and the Indian state itself.” His comments, made during the inauguration of the new Congress office at Kotla Road, were quickly condemned by the BJP, which accused him of attempting to “break the country and divide society.”
“We aren’t fighting a fair fight. If you believe we are fighting just a political organisation called the BJP or RSS, you have not understood what is going on. The BJP and RSS have captured every single institution of our country. We are now fighting the BJP, RSS, and the Indian state itself,” said Rahul.
BJP leaders, including President JP Nadda and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, swiftly criticized Rahul. Nadda claimed that Rahul’s remarks revealed Congress’s true intentions, while Sitharaman questioned the sincerity of Rahul’s oath to uphold the Constitution, given his statement.
Rahul also accused RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat of treason over his recent comment that India became independent “in the true sense” only after the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Rahul described Bhagwat’s remarks as an insult to India’s 1947 Independence and Constitution, calling for his trial for treason.
The inauguration of the five-storey Congress office building was attended by several senior party leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other prominent Congress members. The building has been named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
