Hyderabad : Top Telugu actor Allu Arjun, who has been named in a case following the tragic death of a woman in a stampede during the premiere of his latest film Pushpa-2, appeared virtually before a local court in Hyderabad on Friday.
Allu Arjun, accused no. 11 in the case, filed a regular bail petition, which was heard by the court today. The police requested more time to address the matter, prompting the court to adjourn the case until December 30.
The actor was arrested on December 13 in connection with the stampede, which occurred on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. During the chaos, a 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life, while her 8-year-old son was injured. Allu Arjun was later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14, after spending a day in judicial custody.
Due to security concerns and to avoid public inconvenience, the actor appeared via video conference as his 14-day remand ended. The incident led to a police case filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management.
