Jeff Bezos Slams $600 Million Aspen Wedding Rumors
Bezos and Lauren Sanchez deny extravagant wedding reports
New Mexico :Jeff Bezos has vehemently denied reports suggesting that his upcoming wedding to Lauren Sanchez will cost an extravagant $600 million. The Amazon founder took to X to address the rumors, calling them “completely false”. Bezos’ statement came after reports, including those from Daily Mail and New York Post, claimed the couple was planning a lavish wedding in Aspen, Colorado with a winter wonderland theme at a posh Matsuhisa restaurant.
Bezos further commented on the exaggerated claims, adding that unless they were buying each guest a house, such expenses were “impossible”. His post echoed investor Bill Ackman’s skepticism, who also questioned the credibility of the $600 million price tag. Bezos cautioned followers, saying, “The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than ever.”
Lauren Sanchez also shared Bezos’ post on her Instagram story, adding the words “not true”.
Reports had earlier stated that the couple’s wedding would be a multi-day affair, including a celebration at Kevin Costner’s 160-acre ranch with 180 guests, and that the couple had already arrived in Aspen for the event. The same reports had compared the wedding to their engagement celebration in Positano, Italy, in 2023, which had seen several high-profile guests like Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Queen Rania of Jordan in attendance.
