Mohali Police Arrest 3 History-Sheeters from Haryana with Arms
Trio wanted in multiple criminal cases, including murder, planning a crime in Tricity; Pistol and cartridges recovered
MOHALI – Three history-sheeters with multiple criminal charges, including murder, were arrested by Mohali police on Saturday. The trio, identified as Sandeep Kakkar, Mohit, and Gaurav, all natives of Sonepat in Haryana, had been hiding in Zirakpur and were planning a criminal activity in the Tricity area.
Arms and Ammunition Seized:
During the arrest, police recovered a .315-calibre pistol and 10 live cartridges from their possession.
Police Action:
Mohali’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek stated that police had received a tip-off regarding the movement of criminals in Mohali. Swift action was taken, and special teams led by Sub-Inspector Surjeet Singh from the Narcotic Cell and SI Ajay Kumar from the Lehli Police Post tracked the suspects’ movements.
The trio was apprehended near the Lalru toll plaza while traveling in a Mahindra Scorpio car, registered under HR11-F-6397, which was also seized.
Criminal Background:
The arrested individuals are seasoned criminals, with Gaurav facing a murder charge. Police are conducting further investigations to uncover the trio’s connections and any potential links to other criminal activities in the region.
