Ambala: Gandhi Memorial National College hosted an awareness rally against violence on women and child marriage. The event, spearheaded by Mathematics Department professor Sujata Goyal, aimed to educate students and society about critical issues like domestic violence, sexual harassment, and child marriage.

Professor Sujata Goyal emphasized that the rally’s objective was to inspire young minds and communities to take a stand against crimes targeting women. Students actively participated by carrying banners, chanting slogans, and spreading the message of equality and safety.

The college principal, Dr. Rohit Dutt, expressed his gratitude towards students, faculty members, and organizers for making the event a success. He reiterated the importance of fostering a society that ensures equality between men and women. Dr. Dutt also highlighted the significance of such initiatives in creating a safer and more inclusive community.

Additional Initiatives at the College
Alongside the rally, the college hosted an essay competition on the relevance of the Bhagavad Gita in today’s world. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students showcasing their understanding of the Gita’s teachings. Dr. Ritu Gupta, Head of the Hindi Department, and Assistant Professors Sushma Sharma (Mass Communication) and Priyanka Baldia (Sanskrit) motivated students to incorporate the principles of the Gita into their daily lives.

As part of the ongoing Fit India Week celebrations, a poster-making competition was also held on the fifth day. Dr. Neha Agarwal explained that the program was conducted under the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC), encouraging creative expression and fitness awareness among students.
