Rajesh Khullar emerges as the most powerful officer in Haryana govt., overseeing key departments and legislative responsibilities.
Haryana: The Haryana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Saini, has restructured responsibilities within the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Former IAS officer and Principal Secretary to the CM, Rajesh Khullar, has been appointed as the overall in-charge of the CMO, making him one of the most influential officials in the administration. He will now oversee 21 major departments, including critical portfolios such as Finance, Health, Law, and Public Administration.
Khullar, who previously handled 17 departments during the tenure of former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. Apart from the assigned departments, he will also manage tasks not delegated to other officers. These include overseeing legislative proposals, ordinances, and all matters brought before the Cabinet.

Additional CMO Restructuring Highlights:
Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to the CM, will manage nine departments, including Civil Aviation, Urban Local Bodies, and Environment. He will also monitor the implementation of the Chief Minister’s announcements.
Saket Kumar, Additional Principal Secretary to the CM, has been assigned eight departments, including Agriculture, Women and Child Development, and Fisheries. He will also oversee the CM Window and departmental performance.
Other Assignments: HCS and OSDs Vivek Kalia, Sudhanshu Gautam, and Rakesh Sandhu will handle CM Window operations, grievances, and public interaction.
This new administrative framework aims to enhance governance efficiency and ensure effective execution of the government’s priorities.
