Devotees Offer Arghya to Rising Sun, Conclude Chhath Puja with Joy in Haryana
Chhath Puja festivities concluded with great fervor as devotees gathered at Yamuna River and Roht Canal in Sonepat to pray for family prosperity.
Haryana: The four-day-long Chhath Puja, a festival dedicated to Sun God and Chhath Maiya, concluded on Friday with devotees offering arghya (offerings) to the rising sun. The grand celebrations were marked by prayers, rituals, and the spirit of devotion at various ghats in Sonepat, including the Yamuna River and Roht Canal.
Devotional Gatherings:
From as early as 4 a.m., devotees began gathering at the Chhath ghats, filling the atmosphere with reverence and spirituality. The ghats sparkled with the glow of lit oil lamps (diyas), creating a serene and divine ambiance. Women, accompanied by men carrying fruit baskets on their heads, immersed themselves in the holy waters while offering prayers to the Sun God.
Rituals and Offerings:
The final day of Chhath Puja witnessed devotees standing in knee-deep water as they performed the ritualistic worship of the rising sun. Families prayed for health, happiness, and prosperity, completing the rigorous four-day fasting and prayers with immense faith and joy.
