Mohali Police arrests 4 robbers involved in last week’s robbery: SSP Pareek
SAS Nagar (Mohali): District police has arrested four motorcyclist robbers, Involved in Dhakoli Liquor Shop Robbery on November 01 night, informed SSP Deepak Pareek IPS, SSP SAS Nagar, These individuals used illegal
weapons and knives during the robbery and were traced and arrested by SAS Nagar Police.
SSP Pareek IPS further shared to media that under the directions of DGP Gaurav
Yadav IPS, and Smt. Nilambari Vijay Jagdale IPS, DIG Ropar Range, a team of
CIA Staff and Dhakoli Police Station was tasked to trace the suspects involved in this
robbery. The operation was supervised by Dr.Jyoti Yadav IPS (SP Inv.), Manpreet Singh
PPS (SP, Rural),. Talwinder Singh PPS (SP, Investigation), and Jaspinder Singh, PPS
(SP Zirakpur). The team led by Insp. Harminder Singh (CIA Incharge) and Insp. Deepinder
Singh (SHO Dhakoli) utilized both technical and human intelligence to successfully arrest
the four suspects along with weapons used in the robbery.
Case Background
On Friday last, based on the statement of Manoj Kumar, resident of Nawan Pind Tappian, PS Balachaur, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, a case (FIR No. 89 dated Nov. 02. under various sections at PS Dhakoli. Manoj Kumar, an employee at a Liquor Shopin Mamata Enclave, Dhakoli, reported that around 11:00 PM on 01-11-2024, three masked individuals entered the shop, while a fourth person waited outside on a motorcycle. Two suspects approached Manoj at the counter—one held him from behind and pressed a pistol against his back, demanding all valuables. Another suspect forcibly took ₹10,000 from the cash drawer.
During the robbery, one of the suspects fired a shot, which struck the wall in the basement.
Hearing the gunshot, Deepak Sandhu, the owner of the establishment, came out to intervene.
The robbers then fired again, hitting Deepak Sandhu in the chest.
Recovered Items are:
1. Two pistols (.315 bore) with one live cartridge and two empty cartridges.
2. Two knives.
3. Motorcycle used in the crime.
Investigation and Interrogation
During interrogation, the accused confessed to procuring illegal weapons from Uttar
Pradesh with the intent to commit robberies. They are being presented in court today to seek
police remand. Further investigation may reveal their involvement in additional robbery cases. eeing the scene with
