CHC Operating from Government School Due to Lack of Building

Impact on Residents

Karnal :The Community Health Center (CHC) in Paha, upgraded from a Primary Health Center (PHC) five years ago, still lacks its own building and is currently operating out of a government school. As a result, local villagers face difficulties accessing medical care, often needing to travel to distant district hospitals for treatment.Villagers, including Krishna Kumar and Dhup Singh, express frustration over unfulfilled government promises, stating that despite land being allocated by the panchayat, construction of the new building remains stalled.

Inadequate Facilities
The absence of a proper facility has led to significant gaps in services, including childbirth, forcing women to travel to distant hospitals for deliveries, which poses serious risks to their health.

Staff Shortages
The CHC operates with only one doctor managing the entire workload, as six positions remain vacant, exacerbating the healthcare crisis in the region.

Lack of Medical Equipment
Local resident Tilak Raj notes that the facility lacks essential medical equipment for check-ups, making it impossible for residents to receive proper care.

Doctor’s Statement
Dr. Tripti mentioned that without a dedicated building, they cannot store medical equipment properly, and often face shortages of essential medications.
