36 Bullets Fired: Double Murder Suspect and Cousin Among 3 Killed in Ferozepur, Punjab

Ferozepur: Three Killed, Including Young Girl, in Daylight Shooting Near Gurudwara Akalgarh Sahib

FEROZEPUR — In a shocking act of violence, three people, including a young girl, were shot dead, and two others were injured by gunmen on motorcycles near Gurudwara Akalgarh Sahib in Ferozepur on Tuesday. The brazen attack occurred in broad daylight in a densely populated area.

According to an eyewitness, six assailants on two motorcycles indiscriminately fired at a car as it approached Gurudwara Akalgarh Sahib. The attack resulted in the deaths of Dildeep Singh alias Lalli Kamboj, his cousin Jasprit Kaur, and Akashdeep Singh. Two other occupants, Anmol (the victim girl’s brother) and Akashdeep (the victim girl’s father), sustained severe bullet injuries and have been rushed to the hospital, where their conditions are reported to be critical.

The eyewitness reported that the attackers discharged approximately 36 rounds into the vehicle. The victims were reportedly returning home from shopping for the girl’s upcoming wedding, scheduled for next month.
Police officials, including DIG Ajay Maluja and District Police Chief Somya Mishra, quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. The police have deployed dog squads and forensic teams to investigate the incident. Local residents described the assailants as audacious, firing their weapons while shouting and fleeing the scene.
Dildeep Singh alias Lalli Kamboj had a known criminal record, with two murder cases registered against him in Mamdot (Ferozepur district) and Kharar (Mohali). He had also been interrogated by the NIA. Recently released on bail, Kamboj’s shooting is believed to be linked to ongoing gang conflicts.

The police have registered a case against the unidentified assailants at the City police station and are conducting raids to apprehend the perpetrators. Meanwhile, CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed to aid in identifying the suspects.
