HP: New efforts to be made for development of Sheep-herders

Dharamshala, Jan 31 (UNI) : Forest, Youth and Sports Minister Rakesh Pathania on Sunday said that new efforts will be made for the development of sheep herders and cattle rearers for their Integrated Development .
Forest minister was speaking here today while presiding over at meeting organised for chalking out plans for the proper development of sheep and goat farmers and cattle rearers. He said that there was a need to make new efforts in this direction.
He emphasized for the need of adoption of activities in a planned way together by the animal husbandry and wool federation in the state.
He stressed on the need to mapping the routes of movement of sheep herders and marking the place where better facilities can be provided to them.
He said that it is appropriate for the nomadic sheep farmers in the time of crisis.
Technological equipment should be provided to them so that they can be helped well in time and their Information related to the location can be found by the department. He said that the Palampur university should work on the Gaddi breed advanced types of dogs available with sheep owners.
He said that the meat of the goat and sheep in flock is of an organic and advanced quality and steps are required to be carried to deliver it in right perspective.
On this occasion, President of Wool Federation, Trilok Kapoor Said that animal husbandry and wool federation rural development are jointly increasing the income of sheep and goat farmers in particular can develop project objectives with mutual support because Animal Husbandry Department and Wool Federation directly connected with cattle rearing Whether it is buying wool, wool fleeceing, training or providing health facilities to them.
On this occasion, Dr. Pawanesh Sharma, Chief Project Director, Integrated Development Project said that the objectives of the Integrated Development Project are making aware of the activities of the project and it’s impact directly to the farmers. He said that it plays an important role in rural development and increase in their income.
Managing Director Himachal Pradesh Wool Federation Shimla Vijay Thakur and other officials were also present in the meeting.
