Woman among 4 jailed for pushing teenager into flesh trade
Thane, Jan 30 (UNI) Four persons including a woman who were found guilty of the offences under the POCSO and other IPC acts have been convicted by a Special POCSO Court here on Saturday and handed in 05-10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The Judge at the Special Court Mrs. KD Shirbhate convicting the accused held that the prosecution has successfully proved all the charges against the accused persons beyond reasonable doubts and hence need to be convicted and sentenced.
While one of the accused Kalpesh Teller was convicted for offences punishable under sections 366(a),370(a),465 and 376 of the IPC and also section 3 and 4 of the POCSO act and handed in ten years of rigorous imprisonment.
The other accused Vinod Yadav, Surendra Yadav and Babita Yadav and again Kalpesh Teller were convicted for offences under section 366(a),370(a) of the IPC and handed in five years of Rigorous imprisonment.
The prosecutor told the court that it was between August 2017 and October 2017 the crime had taken place.
The court was also informed by the prosecution that the accused Kalpesh had wooed the girl who was looking for an opportunity in the modelling field by tracing her in the social media. He took her to a lodge in Dahanu and raped her and promised her to get her a good job.
He made use of her Aadhar card and fabricated another one and with the help of the three other accused posted her profile on social media and made her available for flesh trade and offered her to needy customers to whom they sent her in Mumbai for flesh trade.
They had kept the girl in Andheri and whenever any customer opted for her in the social media site and email id based on her profile offered her for the flesh trade.
Thus the foursome earned on the flesh trade of the victim the police said.
PI Inspector Balaji Pandre of the Nayanagar police station who probed into the crime examined as many as a dozen witnesses to prove his case in the court.
