“Nehru’s First Recruits” by Kallol Bhattacharjee released at FCC New Delhi
Is Book Reading catching up or just the season is over? an insider view by veteran PR Guru Gurmukh Singh Bawa
New Delhi: Book release events are increasing ? Do You agree ?
Does this indicate that Book Reading is catching up or just the season is over, as it was due to the election fever!
What ever may be the opinion, the fact is that the book publishing has become easy, book distribution has become easy and above all the hybrid mode of events, i.e., physical cum on-line is providing the deeper reach to the target audience.
Over the last couple of months I have attended four to five book releases or events on new books. Every event that I attend in physical mode demand commuting time and efforts but what I get in return is much more than that ! What I get is a chance to meet long time friends with common interest, meeting reverend personalities who were difficult to reach when they were in prime positions and otherwise also they used to be much formal and tight lip on various Questions.
Earlier this week, on 28th May, I attended the Book Release titled ‘Nehru’s First Recruits’ by Kallol Bhattacharjee*. It so happened that I was speaking to a friend and made a reference of FCC and I made a commitment to attend. But on the day of event Sun was 50 degree plus, but still I made it.
It was good to listen to Dr. Karan Singh and Mani Shankar Airyar; it was after a long time to meet them face to face. Prof Purshotam Agrawal too provided good anecdotes. Yes, reading in between the lines become more interesting in such events.

for pleasure viewing of my followers, pls feel free to add your stories and anecdotes on the same.
On a closing note; I must mention that the FCC as a Facility for such events has improved a lot, Mr. S Venkat Narayan, has brought in a fresh wave of enthusiasm among the members, a series of activities are in the pipe line, as he was mentioning during a brief chat with him , on the sidelines of the event.
Thanks to him for the kind invite and thanks to Mr. Vinod Sharma for the great hospitality. He is always on the foot and dedicated to his duties.
I like the way Ms Sodhi mentioned that the sharing of post shall mention that the event was held at hashtag FCC New Delhi.😄
Meeting ever jubilant and fully charged friends like Dr. Goyal and Dr. Anil Tyagi and many others was another bonus to me. (Courtsey GS Bawa thru’ LinkedIn)
