Book on Gyanvapi Kashi’s religious heritage of Shiva’s Nagari by Vikram Sampath launched
Varanasi: Noted historian Vikram Sampath written book ‘Pratiksha Shiv Ki: Gyanvapi Kashi ke Satya ka Udghatan’ was released in Benaras Hindu University’s prestigous Malviya Mulya Anushashan Kendra on Saturday by legendary lawyer Vishnu Jain, (who has been fighting the case of Gyanpai Masjid in various courts, from District level to High Court to Supreme Court on behalf of Hindu devotees). Popular Bundelkhand singer Malini Awasthi was a special guest on the occasion and said: Itihass Gwah hai ki Gyanvapi ki Ladai Uttar se Dakshin tak samooche Bharat ne Ladi hai. Sampath, an alma mater of BITS Pilani, SP Jain Institute of Management, who resigned from an established golden IT career in Hewlett-Peckard, and persued a PhD in ethnomusicology and history from Queensland Univ. Australia, has written books on Savarkar, Gauhar Jaan and now Gyanvapi, its historical perspective and Hindu astha.
The launch function was attended by Venkatraman Dhanpathi, a member of Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Trust, Shreekant Mishra ,chief Ragi of Vishwanath Mandir, Bharati Madhok of Ehsas Women of Varanasi, Dr. Mayank Narain Singh, coordinator of Kashi Manthan as master of ceremony. Shubhangi and Sukeshi Rishabh were controlling the launch event.
Dr. Sampath told the audience that his chance meeting with lawyer Vishnu Jain at a Literature Fest gave him an idea to present a historical perspective of Gyanvapi Mosque/Mandir to country’s jigyasu citizens.
Shankracharya Abhinav Shankar Bharti of Shringeri Peeth, veteran lawyers Hari Shankar Jain and Vishnu Jain guided, and helped him in completing the research for this pious historical project. Before the book launch they saught blessings of Shri Kashi Vishwanath on Friday. —-Editor
