Jai Mithila Musical Group celebrating Basant Panchami in Chandigarh with great devotion
Chandigarh: Residents of Sector 45A, Chandigarh (near Jwalaji Mandir, Brail) are celebrating Basant Panchami, today by reciting bhajans and puja of Maa Saraswati with great pomp and show. The enthusiasm of Jai Mithila Musical Group, is evident from a small talk our correspondent Roshan Lal Sharma had with Ashok Kumar Gupta, President of the Group.
Mr. Gupta says this is their second home, as most of the members are migrants from Mithila, Bihar who had moved here for making ‘roji-roti’ (earning bread and butter) for their families.
The group is celebrating their 8th year function with Puja, Bhajans. Tomorrow they will have visarjan and Bhandara (community lunch) for over 5000 local residents and neigbours. The Mithila Musical group has about 250 members and celebrate their ethnic functions and traditions together, says Mr. Gupta.
