Kolkata Metro records six lakh plus footfalls Monday

Kolkata: Footfalls in Kolkata’s North-South Metro Railway have crossed the 6-lakh mark after a gap of two and half years, an official said on Tuesday.

North-South Metro – which covers a 31.39-kilometer distance from Dakhineswar to Kavi Subhash – carried 6,20,832 passengers on Monday. Altogether 288 services were run on that day to cater to the users of the country’s oldest metro.
On Monday, the maximum footfalls of 78,197 were recorded at Dumdum. Esplanade recorded
50,330 footfalls, followed by Rabindra Sadan with 42,257 footfalls.
The last time the metro carried more than six lakh passengers was on March 6, 2020. On that day 6,13,542 passengers travelled in the North-South Metro, the official said. (UNI)
