ESIC to expand its services in all 744 districts of the country: Bhupender Yadav

Tirupati: Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav said on Friday that the Centre focus was on extended coordination with state governments for expansion and improvement in service delivery mechanism of ESIC.
Addressing the valedictory session of the two-day National Labour Conference, the Union Minister said the emphasis was on universalizing social protection to workers and to improve employment opportunities to all.
For this purpose, he urged integration of e- Sharma portal for onboarding social security schemes run by both state and central governments.
Earlier he narrated the Centre’s initiatives for expansion and improvement in service delivery mechanism of ESIC for fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Swasthya se Samridhi.
He also reiterated the need for the ESI Hospitals to work in a time-bound manner for Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) compliance and adoption.
The Union Minister added that the ESI will work to expand its services in all 744 districts of the country to cater to the increased beneficiary base, post implementation of the Social Security Code.
The convergence with PMJAY in all the Districts of the country would enable for better accessibility of services to beneficiaries leading to pan-India portability, he added
Later addressing the media, the Union Minister emphasized the need to revise the norms for sanctioning of new Dispensaries in tune with latest technological advancements and future beneficiaries.
He also exhorted for improving medical care and services through ESI hospitals run by State governments and their integration with Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PM-JAY).
He further said that there was a special session on Vision Shramev Jayate@2047 for framing of rules under four Labour Codes and modalities for implementation along with development of portals for licensing, registration, returns, inspections, etc.
The conference was attended by Mr. Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Mr. Sunil Barthwal, Secretary Labour & Employment and the Member Secretary Neelam Shami Rao, Central P F Commissioner, Labour Ministers and Secretaries representing 25 States and Union Territories.
