Munde: Capacity of Venkateshwara sugar mills to be enhanced
Ambajogai: Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde on Sunday stated that although sugar crushing activity would be lesser this year due to a late start, the crushing capacity of Venkateshwara (Ambasakhar) sugar mill will be increased to 3500 MT per day by upgrading the factory next year.
He was speaking on the occasion of conclusion of the present crushing season he said that Venkateshwara Services (formerly Ambasakhar Co., Sugar Factory), a revitalizing green belt of Ambajogai taluka, took a risk to run the factory when the machinery situation was dire, not to make money but to solve the sugarcane problem of farmers of the area.
The Venkateshwara Company boldly took over the operation of the Ambasakhar factory, which was closed down due to old debts and old machinery. With the help of administration and various factories, efforts were made to crush sugarcane in the entire Beed district including Parli, Ambajogai, Cage.
He added that Venkateswara had successfully crushed 2.11 lakh metric tonnes of sugarcane in the 2021-22 season and paid the farmers till March 31. (UNI)
